Most of us have electrical extension leads in our home. Due to the demand of many appliances, we are tempted to plug multi-pin sockets to these extension leads. We end up in a messed- up arrangement of many plugs together and also painstaking unplug of them at last. Though these sockets have many pins for the occupation of a number of appliances; is it really safe to overload them?
There is a current rating for each and every electrical equipment. Before plugging, it is always better to have a glance at the maximum current it can hold out against any sort of complications.
Likewise, every electrical socket has a current limit. We sometimes end up in occupying all the pins of these multi-pin sockets. This will lead to the current to overreach the rating of the pin socket. Thus, the socket began to overheat and possibly cause a fire and sometimes end up in burning of all the plugs connected to it.
Electrical tips for the safety
- Never overload the multi-pin sockets or the extension leads.
- Avoid any sort of fire catching media near to the extension pins.
- Also, never plug an extension pin into another extension pin because that will definitely raise the risk of overloading and thereby overheating of the sockets.
