Electric Vehicle Charging Stations by KSEB

Kerala is one of those states who continuously contributes to the economical and social developments of India. KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) is towards the development of many renewable sources of energy and also bringing several technical milestones. They also brought several developments in their online platforms for aiding the residential sector of the state. One of their recent technical developments is the Electrical Vehicle charging stations (EV charging stations).


What is the purpose of EV charging stations?

Unlike internal-combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles have major environmental and economical benefits. Electricity powered vehicles reduce environmental pollutions and also save you more money. They can be fueled or charged by electricity via corresponding outlets at the charging stations. 


List of KSEB's EV charging stations in Kerala

The Kerala government has selected the KSEB as the nodal agency to establish EV charging stations throughout Kerala. Several stations have already been set up by them and encompassing around 250 other stations in the near future. Let us see the current list of EV stations by KSEB in Kerala.

  1. KSEB first charging station is in Nemam, Trivandrum with a charging capacity of 80 kilowatts.
  2. Kollam has the EV charging station also with a capacity of 80 kilowatts. This station is nearer to the Ollai substation. It claims a charging time of 60-80 minutes for the vehicles.
  3. Trissur has the EV station near to the Viyyur substation.
  4. Kochi's EV station by KSEB is in Palarivattom. It has two filling units with a capacity of 60 kilowatts and 20 kilowatts.
  5. In Kozhikode, the EV charge station is near to 220kV substation Nallilam. It also has two filling units with a capacity of 60 kilowatts and 20 kilowatts.
Within months several EV stations will be set up in other districts as well. This is surely a promising development towards the welfare of living.
