We might have noticed a small cylindrical bump towards the end of a laptop charging cable. It is not just a part of the wiring but has its own role. It is named as ferrite beads. Let's read the duties of these beads.
Ferrite bead is a semimagnetic substance which is moduled in the wiring to filter-out the noise signals in the electronic circuits. The iron oxide material present in the ferrite bead prevents the electromagnetic interference to and from the nearby electronic devices. It also chokes down the high frequency noise signals that may interfere with the proper working of the device. Thus the small cylindrical bumps on the wiring cables have their significant duties to be performed.
