Does the mobile phone need to be charged to 100%?

Actually smart phones are really smart. We inadvertently keep the mobile phones plugged for charging even after it is fully charged. But the smart phones prevent the further charging of batteries beyond it's maximum capacity. But the wrongdoer here is the heat generation occur during the battery charging.

Lithium ions are used to make cellular batteries. Staying warm for long hours would eventually degrade the lithium ion batteries. Most of us have casings for our mobile phones. The casings generally make the heat to stay within the batteries and causes self oxidation. Always remove the casings before charging your cellular phones. Also, try to use the chargers and cables that got shipped along with your mobile phones. Or else make sure to use a good quality branded ones.

Is it necessary to charge the mobiles to its 100%?
The answer is no. 80-95% charging is apt for the cellular phones. Beyond that charging causes voltage stress to the batteries and eventually, that affects its life span.
