Most often used TV remote batteries are of AAA series. These cylindrical sized battery structure measures 4.45cm in length and 1.04cm as diameter. Other household applications such as wall clock, big toys, music systems etc. commonly use AA series batteries. They are also cylindrical but measures 4.95cm as length and 1.37cm as diameter. As they are wider and larger than AAA series batteries, they have longer life span and improved current carrying capacity. But today's electronic structures promote miniaturisation. Hence the demand for AAA battery cells are increasing day by day.
Battery Voltage
The reference voltage recommended for a device to operate is termed as its nominal voltage. Therefore, the nominal voltage of AAA battery is 1.5V DC. AA battery also has a voltage of 1.5V, but they draw more current than AAA battery.
